This design is the result of countless nights laying awake brainstorming a way to make an adjustable sling more elegant, and countless days trying out prototype after prototype. Over a year in the making, the resulting design is a fabulous combination of function and style.
Q. How does it adjust?
A. This unique pouch adjusts using 20 square inches of Aplix. Aplix is a stronger version of Velcro. The particular Aplix we use has a shear strength of 15 lbs. per square inch, meaning that our sling is rated by Aplix for a safe use of up to 300 lbs. (Please keep in mind, however, that all Mamma's Milk slings should only be used for children up to 35 lbs.) You don't have to worry about the Aplix wearing out, either -- it has a cycle life of 2,000 to 10,000 openings and closings.
Q. Why Aplix?
A. Aplix allows for many wonderful features: its stiffness keeps the back of the pouch completely spread properly so that the weight of your baby is spread over your entire back and shoulder. It is so very strong. It wears so comfortably -- nothing digs into your skin. It's excellent for toddlers who want to be up and down. You can even just undo the Aplix; so much faster than lifting the pouch up and over your shoulder!
